The smart approach to losing fat the older you are.
Have you ever heard of the term ‘don’t put the cart before the horse’ ?
Phase1️⃣ (phase 2 and 3 we will discuss later..)
That rule can really apply to those out there in that age bracket that have dedicated themselves to raising a family / driving a business etc and realise now it’s time to get their health back on track.
➡️Here’s the start point.
🏃🏾♂️Get fit first
No magic there. It’s how you go about getting fit that will serve you well further down the track. By building a strong aerobic base of moderate(green zone) level fitness, will help you restore health, energy and put your body in a much better state to cope and recover from more vigorous training.
🏃🏾♂️Adopt a sustainable approach
The approach that will survive the test of time. With a phased approach in this manner, you will ensure you are able to keep consistent especially if it’s early doors and your motivation is high. You will be able to recover well and avoid potential issues that can happen by pushing too hard too soon when your bodies not ready. This is the most common mistake I see a lot. Go hard for 4-6 weeks, burn out and binge. Get this right early and you’ll set yourself up well.
🏃🏾♂️Take advant-age
The fact that you may be a little older can absolutely work in your favour in terms of getting this approach right, if you are willing to play a longer game or have a longer term approach. I’d like to think you’ve had some success in other areas of your life and experience to draw upon.
Now is the time to go ahead and use those lessons, your work ethic, patience, experience and success you’ve had in other areas of your life and apply them to getting fit, strong and healthy
